Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

A five-run, three-hit bottom of the 6th inning allowed the Renegades to pull ahead of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws and eventually hold on to win, 8-4. The win solidifies a series victory for the Renegades and boosts their record to 11-6 against the BlueClaws for the season.

Reid Anderson started on the mound for the Renegades. He worked out of a self-inflicted jam in the top of the 1st but allowed a run to come across.

In the home half of the 1st, the Renegades answered, scoring one run off of a James Nelson RBI single.

The BlueClaws regained the lead in the top of the 3rd inning, when Vito Friscia hit a RBI single to center field, followed by a sacrifice fly from Cole Stobbe. The BlueClaws lead diminished in the bottom half when Elijah Dunham drove in Brandon Lockridge, making the score 3-2.

The bottom of the 6th proved to be the biggest inning for the Gades. A two-run home run from James Nelson put the Renegades on top, and Oliver Dunn followed Nelson's lead by hitting a home run of his own, putting the Renegades up 6-4. After a Brandon Lockridge RBI groundout, the Renegades took a commanding lead of 7-4 into the 7th inning.

In the 7th, Frederick Cuevas joined the fun and hit an RBI double, scoring Oliver Dunn and extending the Renegades lead to 8-4, where the game would stay.

The bats weren't the only part of the game that were efficient for the Renegades though. Barrett Loseke relieved Anderson and did a solid job, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing a run on a solo home run. He struck out four as well.

Nick Ernst earned the win in relief (2-0). He went 2.2 innings, striking out five and letting up no hits. Derek Craft came in to shut the door on the BlueClaws, allowing a hit, a walk, and striking out two.

Mark Potter took the loss (0-1).

The Renegades will face off against the BlueClaws at 4:35 on Sunday for the series finale.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
