SEATTLE (April 3, 2015) "" Seattle Reign FC finished their preseason schedule with a 2-0 win over the University of Washington in a preseason match on Friday,April 3 on the Moda Health Pitch at Memorial Stadium.

Reign FC opened the scoring during the 12th minute as defender Kendall Fletcher sent a through ball past the Washington back-line, allowing Foxhoven to chip the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.

Reign FC held the bulk of the possession and created numerous chances throughout the half, but a physical UW side kept the home side at bay.

Entering the second half as a substitute, new acquisition Amber Brooks made her first debut for Reign FC. Playing a more attacking role than she was use to, Brooks helped stabilize the midfield next to captain Keelin Winters and in turn, create more space for the Reign FC forwards.

"[Harvey's system] allows me to play a more expressive role than I am use to," said Brooks. I can be a bit more creative than when I played in Germany and it also allows me to be more involved in the attack."

In the 69th minute, Brooks played a through ball to forward Merritt Mathias who cut the ball back and played a low, hard cross into the box. Yanez collected the pass with her first touch before turning and placing her shot past Washington's goalkeeper to put away the second and final goal of the night.

Goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer registered her second clean sheet of the preseason, rarely coming under pressure as Seattle dominated possession against the Huskies.

Reign FC's newest signing, midfielder Havana Solaun, started her first match for Reign FC and had some impressive touches on the ball before leaving the game with an injury in the 40th minute.

"I thought the match started off well and I think there were definitely some bright spots. I thought Havana played great before her injury," said Reign FC head coach and GM Laura Harvey. "We were a bit sloppy at times and we can't be so that is something we will work on."

With the win, Seattle finished the preseason undefeated after a 5-0 victory over the University of Portland on Saturday, March 28.

Seattle Reign FC kicks off its 2015 NWSL campaign against the Western New York Flash on Sunday, April 12 on the Moda Health Pitch at Memorial Stadium. Single match, half-pack, and season tickets are available for purchase at ReignFC.com or by calling (855) REIGN-FC.
