Reign FC Calls up Julia Roberts

SEATTLE (May 8, 2014) - Seattle Reign FC has added amateur midfielder Julia Roberts to the roster ahead of Saturday's 4 p.m. (PT) match against Portland Thorns FC at Providence Park.

Height: 5'9"

Born: Feb. 7, 1991

Hometown: Fredrick, MD

Last Club: Washington Spirit

College: University of Virginia

High School - Urbana HS: 2007: Helped the school's soccer team to the 3A State Championship, scoring two goals in the final game that went into penalty kicks. Three-time NSCAA All-State selection before forgoing her senior season to participate in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Helped her nationally ranked club team, the McLean Freedom, to a national title. 2009: Parade All-American and #4 of the top 50 girl soccer players by ESPN.

College - University of Virginia: 2011: Helped the Cavaliers make the NCAA quarterfinals after five seasons of being eliminated in the third round. 2012: Helped the Cavaliers win the ACC championship in the final match against Maryland.

Clubs - Seattle Sounders Women: 2012: Made 13 appearances for a total of 932 minutes and provided one assist. Washington Spirit: 2013: Started 19 games for a total of 1617 minutes.

Both Reign FC (5-0-0, 15pts) and Thorns FC (2-0-2, 8pts) enter Saturday's game undefeated thus far in the 2014 season. Saturday's match also will be carried live via high-definition webstream at YouTube.com/NWSL.
