Reign FC Acquire Forward Danielle Foxhoven in Trade with Thorns FC

SEATTLE - Nov 27, 2013 - Seattle Reign FC has acquired forward Danielle Foxhoven from Thorns FC in exchange for forward Jess McDonald and the rights to midfielder Rebecca Moros. As part of the deal, Reign FC agreed to remove Moros from their Discovery List so she could be signed by Portland.

"While my experience last season with Portland was great, I am so excited to be embarking on a new adventure with Seattle Reign FC," said Foxhoven. "I have nothing but respect for the Seattle Reign team and organization, so I am thrilled to be a part of that in the upcoming season. I look forward to preseason and can't wait to represent Seattle in our goal of becoming 2014 NWSL champions."

Foxhoven played in 21 games (eight starts) for Thorns FC in the 2013 NWSL season. The forward tallied four goals including two game-winning goals in 997 total minutes. She was signed by Portland as a discovery player prior to the 2013 NWSL season.

Foxhoven attended the University of Portland where she played alongside fellow Reign FC teammates Megan Rapinoe, Elli Reed, and Keelin Winters. She is ranked fourth on the program's all-time goal-scoring list with 57 goals and was named the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2008.

"Danielle is a fantastic addition to our squad," Reign FC coach and general manager Laura Harvey said. "Her proven experience and ability will be a valuable asset in the future development of this team"

Jess McDonald made seven appearances (six starts) for Reign FC in 2013, registering three goals and one assist. McDonald was acquired off waivers from the Chicago Red Stars on June 28, 2013.
