Ontario Reign News Release

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers, 2-1, on Saturday evening in front of 4,792 fans at Orleans Arena. With a Las Vegas win tonight, the clubs split the back-to-back series with one victory each after the Reign claimed the win in the shootout, 3-2, on Friday in Ontario.

After Ontario netminder Curtis Darling saved all 18 shots that the Wranglers threw at him in the first period, Las Vegas scored the first goal of the game at 15:28 in the second period. Center Adam Miller skated out ahead of the Reign defenseman and flipped a shot up and over Darling's glove. Right wing Ryan Weston and defenseman Mike Madill claimed the assists on the opening goal.

At 4:48 in the final period, left wing Shay Stephenson scored his second goal of the season and what would be the game-winning point during a Las Vegas power play. Adam Miller and Ryan Weston both registered their second points of the night with the assists on the play.

Reign right wing Todd Jackson scored his first goal of the season at 15:45 and brought Ontario within one point of the Wranglers. Left wing Chris Curran sent a pass over to Jackson, who fired off a shot that Las Vegas goaltender Michael Ouzas couldn't get in front of. Ontario pulled Curtis Darling for the extra attacker as the last 1:25 ran out on the clock, but was unable to put the puck over the goal line. Las Vegas claimed the win with a final score of Wranglers 2, Reign 1.

Three stars: 1. LV - Shay Stephenson 2. LV - Adam Miller 3. LV - Michael Ouzas
