BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, was defeated by the Bakersfield Condors in overtime, 2-1, on Saturday evening before 5,738 fans at Rabobank Arena.

Forward Michael Pelech was the first to score in the game at 14:56 in the opening period off assists from defenseman Shawn Germain and right wing Tony Voce. Pelech fired off a slap shot from the top of the left circle that went straight into over the goal line to give the Reign an early 1-0 lead over the Condors.

Reign netminder Curtis Darling held off the Condors until midway through the second period, when center Maxime Macenauer registered his second goal of the season during a power play. Left wing Shawn Weller notched the assist on Bakersfield's equalizer goal, which forced an overtime session when neither club scored again during the remainder of regulation.

Defenseman Sasha Pokulok claimed the game-winner for Bakersfield when his wrist shot from the slot hit twine at 1:26 in the overtime session after a Reign slashing minor gave the Condors the man advantage. Bakersfield claimed two standings points and the win with a final score of Condors 2, Reign 1.

Three stars: 1. BAK - Sasha Pokulok 2. BAK - Timo Pielmeier 3. ONT - Curtis Darling
