Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats took a 4-2 lead to the third period on Friday night but lost 6-4 to the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers at the Brandt Centre. Austin Wagner, Nick Henry and Josh Mahura scored the first three goals of the game to give Regina the 3-0 lead. Medicine Hat responded to get within one but Sam Steel scored his team leading 45th of the season while shorthanded late in the second and it was 4-2 after two. In the final period the Tigers scored four times, including an empty netter with less than a minute left to take the win and draw within three points of the Pats for first place in the Eastern Conference. The Tigers outshot the Pats 40-37 in the win while the Pats powerplay was oh for four and the penalty kill three for three. Tyler Brown made 34 saves in the Regina goal, Michael Bullion 33 for the Tigers. The Pats (44-11-7-1) are right back at it Saturday night at home to the Calgary Hitmen. Puck drop at the Brandt Centre is at 7 p.m.
