Anaheim Arsenal News Release

ANAHEIM, Calif., July. 2, 2007 - The Anaheim Arsenal has announced that Head Coach Reggie Geary has agreed to a one year contract extension. Geary took over for Larry Smith 25 games into the Arsenal's inaugural season. With Coach Geary at the helm the Arsenal put together a winning record (13-12) in the second half of the season, finishing only one game out of the last playoff spot in the west.

"I am very excited about the future of the Anaheim Arsenal as well as the NBA Development League," Geary stated when asked about the contract extension," I am both grateful and appreciative of the confidence shown in me by President Jeff Jones and the entire ownership group."

"It is a real privilege to announce the hiring of Reggie Geary as head coach," President Jeff Jones exclaimed," His hire only adds to the level of excitement and support the team is experiencing for the 2007-2008 season."

Prior to working with the Anaheim Arsenal Geary was a local star at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. From there he went on to play four years at the University of Arizona for Lute Olson, where he earned All-Pac-10 honors. Geary was then selected by Cleveland in the 1996 NBA draft and played for both the Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs. He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and internationally in Israel, Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, Portugal and France. Geary then was hired as an assistant to legendary coach Lute Olson, before being named to the Arsenal coaching staff in August of last year.

"My family and I enjoy living in Anaheim, and the level of support and encouragement we have received here is incredible," Coach Geary commented as he reflected on the contract extension.
