Reed's walk-off solo home run seals in for BaySox

Bowie, MD- Keith Reed's walk-off solo home run off David Maust in the bottom of the ninth inning sealed the Baysox 6-5 comeback over Harrisburg in Eastern League action.

The Senators (40-75) took an early lead scoring three runs in the first inning off Baysox starter Matt Bruback. The Baysox (60-56) closed the gap to a run in the fourth inning when Walter Young hit an RBI single, then a play later Val Majewski scored on a Keith Reed ground out. After two more Harrisburg runs Ed Rogers tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run home run of John Searles. Then with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Reed drove the Maust offering over the left field wall to complete the comeback victory.

Maust (1-8) took the loss, allowing one run in 0.2 innings. Senator's starter Chad Bentz lasted 3.0 innings allowing two runs.

Jacobo Sequea (3-4) earned the win pitching 1.0 inning, striking out two. Bruback lasted 5.0 innings allowing three runs, all in the first inning, striking out five and walking five.

Alejandro Machado and Juan Camilo each had two hits for the Senators, who stranded 11 base-runners compared to just one for the Baysox.

Rogers and Cates proved to be a strong top of the lineup with two hits apiece for the Baysox.

These two teams play the second of a three game series tomorrow night at 7:05. RHP Chris Piersoll will take the hill for the Baysox against LHP Jason Stevenson.

Tuesday is also Baysox Bargain Night, where fans will "Pay what they weigh" at the Baysox box office. Fans can step on the scales and pay a penny per pound of their weight.
