Owen Sound Attack News Release

Dale DeGray, the General Manager of the Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that the organization has signed Head Coach Mark Reeds to a contract extension that will see him behind the bench through the 2011/2012 season.

In two seasons with the Attack, Reeds has guided a young team to a steady improvement in which they look to build upon during 2009/2010, their 10th Anniversary Season. Reeds guided a rookie laden team to a 20 win season in 2007/2008 and in 2009/2010, the Attack showed a 20 point improvement, finishing in 8th place in the Western Conference and making a return to the post season.

Under Reeds watch over the last two seasons, Tyler Beskorowany, Scott Stajcer, David Kolomatis and Garrett Wilson have found themselves drafted into the National Hockey League while former Attack forward Lane MacDermid who played 1 ½ seasons under Reeds, was also drafted.

When asked about his extension, Reeds noted that "the team has made significant strides the past two seasons and is really looking forward to seeing his commitment through." Reeds also noted that he is "very pleased in the direction the team is headed."
