
RedHawks Tear Into Zephyrs, 14-3

HIGHLIGHTS: The RedHawks' fourteen runs and eighteen hits tallied the most of any game this season as Oklahoma City defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 14-3 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
Five RedHawks collected multiple-hit games led by Brandon Boggs who was a home run shy of the cycle. Boggs evening included two doubles, a triple and a single. Hernan Iribarren drove in four runs, connecting on three hits. Chris Davis continued his hot start with the RedHawks adding three hits complimented by three RBIs.
It was a six-run second inning that separated the game early. All but two RedHawk starters had at least one RBI.
Winning pitcher Derek Holland (3-1) continued to pitch stellar managing 6.2 innings, scattering six hits, and striking out eight without allowing an earned run. Holland's strikeout total was the most of his five starts. Losing pitcher Rick VandenHurk ( 1-2) was knocked around for seven runs in three innings. Geoff Geary allowed a run in 1.1 innings of work. Pedro Strop pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
Oklahoma City and New Orleans will continue their four-game set Friday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Michael Kirkman and Ryan Tucker are slated to pitch for the RedHawks and Zephyrs respectively with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 pm.
