Game Keys - Oklahoma City pounded out a season high 14 runs on 18 hits in a 14-3 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs. Hernan Iribarren had three hits and four RBI for the RedHawks. The Zephyrs have dropped five consecutive games.
Oklahoma scored a run in the first then followed with six more runs in the second frame. Starter Derek Holland worked into the 7th inning and allowed 2 unearned runs to earn the win. Rick Vandenhurk takes the loss for the Zâs, he worked three innings. Scott Cousins had three hits for the Zephyrs.
The Zephyrs have dropped back to back game by 11 runs. First time in franchise history to have lost consecutive games by double digits.
Game Notes: The Zephyrs placed reliever Scott Strickland on the disabled list and activated Matt DeSalvo from the DL. The Z's are now 406 against left handed starters.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs will take on the first place Oklahoma City Redhawks on Friday night at Bricktown Ballpark at 7:05. New Orleans will start RH Ryan Tucker (0-1, 2.70) against LH Michael Kirkman (2-0, 2.74) RADIO: 106.1 FM WMTI
