
RedHawks Sign Pair of Rookie Pitchers

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed LHP Adam Miller and RHP Stephen Richter, the American Association club announced. Both players are entering their first season of professional baseball in 2014.
Miller, 24, played college baseball at the University of South Carolina Beaufort from 2010-2012. In his senior season, Miller was 10-5 with a 2.98 ERA in 21 games with 85 strikeouts in 117.2 innings pitched.
In three seasons with USCB, Miller was 25-12 with a 3.68 ERA and one save in 51 games (46 starts). He pitched 290.2 innings and allowed 143 runs (119 earned) on 305 hits. Miller struck out 215 batters and walked 76 in his college career.
Richter, 23, pitched for the University of Delaware in 2012 and 2013. Last season, he was 4-0 with a 1.61 ERA and three saves in 17 games. Richter pitched 22.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on 12 hits. He struck out 31 batters and walked 11.
In two seasons for the Blue Hens, Richter was 5-1 with a 3.12 ERA and 11 saves in 41 games. He allowed just 29 hits and struck out 76 batters in 49.0 innings pitched.
"Miller and Richter are a couple young arms that we've received positive scouting reports on," said RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic. "Quality rookies are valuable in this league, and we are going to give both every opportunity to show us what they can do in spring training."
