FARGO, ND - The Gary SouthShore RailCats won the rubber-match of the series 10-5 Sunday evening at Newman Outdoor Field for a getaway-day victory that gives them sole-possession of first-place in the Northern League standings. RailCats starter RHP Garret Holleran pitched 6.0 innings and gave-up four-runs (all earned) for his fourth win of the season.

In the first inning, RedHawks starter RHP Garry Bakker issued back-to-back walks to RailCats 2B Eric McNamee and SS Jay Pecci. RF Cristian Guerrero's RBI single opened the scoring and gave the RailCats a 1-0 lead.

CF Rob Marconi drew a walk, Massaro beat the throw to first to leg out the infield hit and Pecci poked a ball through the right-hole to give the RailCats a 4-0 lead. With Massaro at third and Pecci at first, 1B Steve Haake singled Massaro home to pad the RailCats lead. C Brett Wallace mopped-up with a three-run double to cap the RailCats five-run fourth.

The RedHawks got on the board in the home half of the fifth. RedHawks CF Nic Jackson doubled to the center-field batters eye, 1B Ruben Salazar and C Alan Rick hit RBI singles. With Salazar in scoring position and Rick at first, 2B Carlo Cota kicked up the left-field chalk for a RBI double.
