
RedHawks Rally to Defeat Zephyrs, 7-6

METAIRIEâManny Alexander hit a two run single in the eighth to put the Oklahoma RedHawks (49-50) ahead for good and defeat the New Orleans Zephyrs (53-45) 7 to 6 on Thursday Night at Zephyr Field.
The RedHawks took a 4 to 2 lead into the seventh inning but the Z's rallied as Alan Zinter hit a pinch hit grand slam off RedHawks reliever Reynaldo Garcia. The Z's couldn't hold the lead as the RedHawks countered with four in the eighth as Ramon Nivar and Alexander each had two run singles in the inning. Garcia (4-2) picked up the win in relief and Erasmo Ramirez pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save of the season. Brandon Puffer (5-2) suffered the loss in defeat.
The series with the RedHawks continues on Friday at 7:05 PM. Friday is Free Car Friday courtesy of Bohn Brothers Toyota and Coca Cola with Post Game Fireworks. Jared Fernandez (6-8, 4.01) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Ryan Snare (0-0, 0.00) for the RedHawks.
