Round Rock Express News Release
The Round Rock Express continued their win, lose trend with a 6-3 loss to the Frisco RoughRiders Wednesday night.
Round Rock was dominant Tuesday in a 10-1 rout, but were unable to continue the offensive explosion against Jose Dominguez, at least after the third batter of the game.
Michael Coolbaugh got the Express started before the 9,205 at the Dr Pepper/Seven Up Ballpark could get settled. He ripped his first home run with Round Rock in the first to stake the Express to a 2-0 lead.
However, home runs by Marshall McDougall in the second and Jason Bourgeois in the fourth brought Frisco right back. The RoughRiders finally took the lead in the fifth off of a sacrifice fly by Lance Burkhart and an Andrew Beinbrink RBI single gave them a lead they would never lose.
Dominguez (4-0) stayed perfect by giving up only four hits in seven innings. Tim McClaskey (3-1) took his first loss.
The teams will meet for the final time this year when the four-game series concludes Thursday at 7 p.m.
