FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks won the Sunday matinee rubber-match game 7-5 against the Schaumburg Flyers in front of 3,007 fans at Newman Outdoor Field. The RedHawks improve to 33-27 and the Flyers fall to 28-34. The victory gave the RedHawks an 8-2 mark to end their season-long ten-game homestand.
A pitcher's duel through three, Flyers 3B Vince Harrison and RF Victor Ferrante teamed-up for a pair of singles to lead-off the fourth. C Richard Mercado doubled Harrison home and DH Craig Maddox cued a ball to second to score Ferrante from third and make it 2-0 Flyers.
Fargo-Moorhead responded in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. RedHawks SS Zach Penprase drew a walk and reached third on CF Nic Jackson's 19th single in the last 11 games. 3B Jeremiah Piepkorn reached on a fielder's choice and the RedHawks benefited from a passed ball. 1B Randall Simon lifted a sac fly to score Jackson from third and DH Ruben Salazar tied it at two with his first RBI single of the season.

In the sixth, Simon cracked his seventh home run of the season to double the RedHawks lead to 4-2. The RedHawks benefited from an error and padded their lead with a pair of RBI singles from Simon and Penprase for a 7-2 lead.
In their last at bats, Ferrante hit his team-leading 11th home run of the season and substitute 2B Jose Valdez hit a two-run big fly, but the Flyers rally fell short.
