TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Salt Lake Bees are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Last season, the Bees finished first in the Pacific North with a record of 81-63.

VS. SALT LAKE:

The RedHawks and Bees split a four-game series at Franklin Covey Field last season. The RedHawks won the middle two games. The Hawks hit .277 with six home runs in the series. RedHawk pitchers had a 4.24 ERA and allowed only one home run. In '05 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark, the teams split a four-game series.

TODAY'S GAME:

This is game 54 of the season. It's the final game of a four-game series and the last of four meetings between Oklahoma and Salt Lake this season.

LAST GAME:

Salt Lake took the third game of the series with a 7-4 win. The Bees hit a home run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull away from the RedHawks. Jamey Wright lost his first major league rehab start, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits in 4.2 innings.

ROSTER MOVES:

RHP Mike Bumstead was put on the RedHawks' DL with a foot strain.

PITCHING MATCHUP:

The RedHawks will send Alfredo Simon to the mound. Simon will look to turn things around after a rough May, going 1-3 with a 12.46 ERA. He lost his last start Sunday by allowing six runs (five earned) in five innings. Steven Shell gets the ball for the Bees. Last season for the Bees, Shell beat the RedHawks May 21, allowing two runs on nine hits in seven innings.

LET MAY GO:

The RedHawks might be happy to see May go as they went 11-18, losing 14 of their last 18 games. The RedHawks finished last in the month with a 6.83 team ERA.

SCORING FIRST:

The RedHawks have scored the first run in nine of their last 12 games after scoring first last night on Kevin West's RBI double in the first inning. For the season, the RedHawks are 14-17 when they score the first run.

JASON BOTTS:

Botts finished a good month of May by going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored last night. He finished the month hitting .361 with three home runs and 26 RBIs. For the season, Botts is now hitting .288 with four home runs and a 40 RBIs. Botts is tied for fourth in the PCL with 40 RBIs.

KEVIN WEST:

West is 16-for-45 (.356) with two homers and eight RBIs in his last 11 games after going 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored last night last night. West has started 11 games in a row.

BOBBY MURCER NIGHT:

Oklahoma City native and former New Youk Yankee great Bobby Murcer will appear at tonight's game and throw out the first pitch.

COL. ALLGOOD REMEMBERED:

The RedHawks will honor the late Dr. Brian Allgood Saturday night. The RedHawks will raise money for a University of Oklahoma Medical scholarship in his name during tomorrow nights game. Allgood was the top medical officer in Iraq when he was killed in the line of duty.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The Hawks hit 30 homers in May after hitting just nine in April...The RedHawks are 5-2 on Friday but just 2-11 in the final game of a series...The Hawks lost for just the sixth time this season when outhitting their opponent. The RedHawks had 10 hits to the Bees' nine last night... David Matranga brings a six-game hit streak into tonight's game...Botts has played in every game this season.
