The Oklahoma City RedHawks return to the field after the All-Star break with the first of a 4-game series at Round Rock and the opener of an 8-game trip that will also take them to New Orleans. The RedHawks won their final 2 games prior to the break to take 3 out of 5 from Iowa. OKC is second, 1 game back of Albuquerque, in the American South. Round Rock is fourth in the division, 6.5 games back of first. OKC will start righthander Elizardo Ramirez, the team leader in starts (14) and innings (87) this season. Lefty Mark McLemore starts for Round Rock.

SEASON SERIES VS. ROUND ROCK: The RedHawks lead the season series 5-3 over the Express. Round Rock won 3 out of 4 at Dell Diamond May 8-11. OKC swept the Express at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark June 23-26 in 4 one-run games, with the teams combining to score 15 runs in the series. It was one of 2 sweeps for OKC this season, the other being over Portland at The Brick May 12-15. The RedHawks are batting .277 against the Express with 10 doubles, 3 triples and 3 homers. OKC's team ERA vs. Round Rock is 3.58, while Round Rock is pitching at a 3.39 clip with its hitters batting .263 against the RedHawks with 20 doubles, no triples and 5 home runs. OKC batters have drawn more than twice as many walks (30) during the season series as Round Rock (13).

GERMAN THE PCL'S TOP STAR: OKC's Esteban German took home Major League Baseball Advanced Media's PCL Top Star Award in last night's Triple-A All-Star Game at Portland. German went 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBIs while playing the entire game at third base. German's 2-run shot in the ninth brought the PCL to within a run of the International League, but the IL held on for a 6-5 win. German has hit safely in 15 of his last 16, going 23-for-63 (.365) with 11 RBIs. German is tied for seventh in the league in batting with a .319 average, second in the PCL in on-base percentage at .423 and fourth in walks with 52.

PROVIDING RELIEF: OKC's bullpen has not had a losing decision since June 17, when Mike Hinckley was charged with an unearned run in the 11th inning of a 5-4 loss to Iowa. Each of the RedHawks last 9 losses has gone to the starting pitcher. The relief corps has earned 6 wins since its last loss.

MAD DOG EXTENDS STREAK: OKC reliever Warner Madrigal has not allowed a run in 10 games (10.1 innings) since being optioned most recently June 17.

KEEPING IT IN THE PARK: OKC pitching has allowed 55 home runs, tied with Las Vegas for the fewest in the league. OKC has gone 3 games and 33 innings since John-Ford Griffin belted a 3-run shot off Bryan Corey on Friday at The Brick.

MAKING THEM EARN IT: The RedHawks have gone 2 full games (18 innings) without allowing a walk. The last walk came in the ninth inning of Game 1 on Saturday afternoon, drawn by Iowa's Bobby Scales against Orlando Hernandez.

CLOSE CALLS: The RedHawks lead the league in one-run wins at 19-11. Sacramento is second at 18-8. OKC is tied with Round Rock for the most wins in games tied after 8 innings at 10-3. The Express is 10-4 in games tied after 8.

HOME RUN BINGE: OKC has homered in 3 straight games, matching its second-longest home run streak of the year. On two other occasions (April 21-23 and May 21-23) the RedHawks homered in 3 straight. The season high is a 4-game homer streak from April 15-18.
