Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks look for a fifth straight win as they face the Nashville Sounds and try to keep pace with New Orleans atop the American South Division. Paul Clemens makes his second start for the RedHawks, squaring off against Wily Peralta, the top prospect in the Brewers system. Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie will be in OKC to begin a rehab assignment.

Last Night-- The RedHawks scored four runs in the fifth inning against Sounds starter Seth McClung in a 4-2 win, the RedHawks fourth straight victory. After suffering four hitless innings, the RedHawks broke through in the fifth. Brett Wallace and Brad Snyder hit back-to-back singles before a Jimmy Paredes single knocked in Wallace for a 1-1 game. Snyder later scored on a wild pitch for a 2-1 score. Later in the frame, Fernando Martinez singled in Paredes and Landon Powell for a 4-1 lead. RedHawks reliever Sergio Perez (1-0) dealt one scoreless inning with a walk for the winning decision.

Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- The rotation rolls over for the first time this season as Paul Clemens makes his second start...Clemens took the loss on opening night despite tossing six effecitve innings...He allowed just two runs on a pair of solo homers...Clemens joined th organization last July as a four-player package sent from Atlanta in exchange for Michael Bourn...Prior to the trade, Clemens was a Southern League All-Star for Mississippi...He is considered the #5 prospect in the Astros system by Baseball America...Nashville starter Wily Peralta is considered the top prospect in the Brewers system...In his season debut, Peralta allowed only one run on four hits over six innings, but did not factor into the decision in the Sounds 6-2 loss against New Orleans...Last season Peralta led the Southern League in ERA (3.46) while with the Huntsville Stars...In five starts with the Sounds at the end of the season, he posted a 2.03 ERA.

Abad, Lowrie Join Team-- Relief pitcher Fernando Abad joins the RedHawks tonight after being optioned to OKC by the Astros following the addition of Justin Maxwell to the big league club. Abad appeared in two games with the Astros in the young season, allowing one run in 1.1 IP. Last season, Abad made 29 appearances with the RedHawks, going 2-3 with a 4.80 ERA. He gives the RedHawks a lefty in the bullpen for the first time this season. Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie also comes to town to being a rehab assignment. Lowrie was acquired in the off-season from the Boston Red Sox as part of a trade for P Mark Melancon. He is currently on the DL with a sprained right thumb.

Hail Hessman-- RedHawks first baseman is the active leader in career minor league home runs. His 330 blasts is almost 100 more than Val Pascucci of Buffalo, who is second on the list with 233. Toledo's Brad Eldred ranks third with 229. Combined with his homers from the Majors and Japan, Hessman has a total of 350 career home runs since beginning his professional career in 1997.

Balanced Attack-- Although the RedHawks rank third in the league with 32 runs, no individual ranks among the top five in any major offensive category. They have relied on timely hitting rather than home runs, as they are tied for the second-least homers in the PCL with three.

Now That's Quality-- The RedHawks have had great starting pitching to begin the season. Through the first five games, the starts have combined to go 3-1 with a 2.33 ERA (7 ER/27.0 IP) and a 25:5 strikeout to walk ratio. Three of the five starters have turned in a quality start, no OKC starter has surrendered more than three runs. The lone loss was charged to Paul Clemens, who allowed just a pair of solo home runs over six effective innings.

Against the Sounds-- The RedHawks went 9-7 against the Sounds in 2011, despite being outhit and outscored by Nashville...The RedHawks pitching staff fanned 138 batters in 138 innings...Collin DeLome was one of the team's offensive leaders, hitting .448 (13x29) with two homers, six RBI, and a .538 on-base percentage in 12 games. The RedHawks were 6-2 against the Sounds in Bricktown, including a series sweep May 2-5. These two teams will meet 16 times in 2012, with the Sounds' next trip to OKC coming May 29-June 1.

Welcome to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark-- Officials with the Oklahoma City RedHawks and the Chickasaw Nation announced Thursday, April 5 they had decided to rename the stadium Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks and the Chickasaw Nation believe the new name meets the objectives of the partnership and is respectful to the wishes of Oklahoma City citizens and passionate RedHawks fans. It also underscores both parties' mutual commitment to be responsive to the community. The agreement still includes branding elements for Newcastle Casino, Chickasaw Country and the Chickasaw Nation, consumer promotions, hospitality at stadium events and opportunities to use the ballpark for Chickasaw Nation and Newcastle Casino programs.
