Bees Rally Late for 2-1 Win Over Reno

April 10, 2012 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev.-The Aces took a 1-0 lead into the ninth inning Tuesday night, but a pair of solo home runs for Salt Lake in its final at-bat lifted the Bees to a 2-1, come-from-behind win over Reno at Aces Ballpark.

Randy Ruiz put the Aces on the board in the second inning with a solo home run, giving Reno a 1-0 lead. That advantage would stand-up until the ninth when Jorge Cantu and former Aces outfielder Ryan Langerhans each hit a solo homer off Reno closer Jonathan Albaladejo, putting the Bees ahead for the first time all night.

The Aces would go quietly in the ninth, dropping their fourth-straight game.

Aces starter Barry Enright took a hard-luck no decision after tossing 6.0 scoreless frames. Mike Zagurski worked 2.0 spotless innings, before Albaladejo (0-1) was touched-up for the tying and go-ahead runs in the ninth.

Like Enright, Salt Lake starter Garrett Richards took a no decision despite allowing just a run on five hits with eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings of work. The win went to Bees reliever Ryan Brasier (1-0), who kept the Aces off the scoreboard over the game's final two frames.

At the dish for Reno, Cole Gillespie collected two hits, and Ryan Wheeler added a double. Ruiz's home run was his first in an Aces uniform.

The Aces and Bees will hook-up again on Wednesday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Chris Jakubauskas (1-0, 1.50 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Salt Lake will counter with RHP Matt Shoemaker (0-0, 4.50 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT.

Wednesday's game will be the first Aces WINSday of the season. If the Aces win, all fans in attendance will receive a free appetizer to the Arroyo Mexican Grill or Duffy's Ale House. Tickets are on-sale now at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
