Everett Silvertips News Release
Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips couldn't stop the Tri-City Americans on Saturday night losing 7-2. Kruise Reddick led the Americans to victory gaining a hat trick and upping his point total to 18 this season (8G, 10A). Dale Hunt and Shane Harper had the only two goals for Everett tonight. Kent Simpson made 27 saves on the night taking the loss and moving his record to 7-4-1-0.
This brings the âTips record to 13-9-3-0 with 29 points in 25 games played standing five points behind second place Tri-City Americans in the U.S. Division. The Silvertips are now 5-3-2-0 in their last 10 games. The Silvertips come back to the Comcast Arena on Friday night November 28th for a 7:35 game against the Portland Winter Hawks.
Everett came out ready to work producing a huge two on one scoring chance to begin the game. Americans goaltender Chet Pickard made a great diving split-legged save after some great tic-tac-toe passing between Daniel Bartek and Harper to keep the score tied. Soon after, Kyle Beach had a near breakaway after a Tri-City turnover but couldn't find the back of the net. Kent Simpson would play strong in the first period stopping all 11 shots faced.
Hunt would get Everett on the board first tonight after putting home a rebound off a Mike Alexander shot. The goal would come at 3:04 of the first period to give Everett the 1-0 lead. Tri-City would bounce back tying the game up after an Adam Hughesman shot hit the post and fell behind Simpson giving an easy tap in for Reddick at the eight minute mark. Only 17 seconds later on the next shift Mitch Fadden walked in from the goal line and beat Simpson five-hole to take their first lead of the game. Everett would respond immediately just 19 seconds later when Harper fired a hard wrist shot from the top of the slot to beat Pickard and tie the score up at two. Tri-City still would not stay down as Brett Plouffe fired a hard slap shot past Simpson at 14:26 to give the Americans the lead once again. Adding insurance, Brooks Macek scored his third goal of the year at 17:50 to give Tri-City a 4-2 lead going into the third period.
The Americans quickly jumped on Everett in the third period. It took only eight seconds from the faceoff for Tri-City to win the draw to Plouffe who then made a great pass to Reddick between the Everett defenseman to give him a breakaway and beat Simpson to make the score 5-3. Everett head coach John Becanic pulled Simpson with 9:39 left to play in the third period giving the Silvertips the extra attacker. Tri-City capitalized on the empty net as Jason Reese put home his 15th goal of the season to make it a 6-2 game. The Americans scored again at 19:36 as Reddick completed the hat trick leading his team to a 7-2 victory.
