Ottawa RedBlacks News Release
OTTAWA-GATINEAU - The Ottawa REDBLACKS will hold a special training camp practice in Gatineau this weekend as the club continues preparations for the 2018 CFL regular season.
Starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 3, the REDBLACKS will practice at Stade Mont Bleu before holding a scrimmage to cap off their visit. Autographs will follow, giving fans from the Outaouais to meet their favorite REDBLACKS player. Big Joe and the REDBLACKS Cheer Team will also be on hand.
"We love Gatineau and we love practicing in Quebec," said REDBLACKS Head Coach Rick Campbell. "We've had great experiences every time we've held a practice there. Our whole team knows and appreciates that Gatineau is a big and supportive part of RNation. Allez ROUGE et NOIR!"
This is the fourth-straight year that the REDBLACKS have visited the Hull venue for practice after doing it for the first time during 2015 training camp. With so many Gatineau fans making regular visits to TD Place, the REDBLACKS and OSEG have made it a priority to repay that loyalty with a visit like Sunday's event.
"It's only right that we give back to the communities that support us, and there's no question that fans in the Outaouais are a huge part of RNation," said OSEG Manager of Community Events, Mark Sluban. Sunday's practice and scrimmage is just another way for our players to connect with our fans."
