Ottawa RedBlacks News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League have signed three free agents today: national receiver Brad Sinopoli, international receiver Greg Ellingson and international offensive lineman SirVincent Rogers.
Brad Sinopoli
Receiver Brad Sinopoli, who spent four seasons as quarterback of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, will return to the Nation's Capital as a member of the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
The 24-year-old native of Peterborough has spent two seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, making 49 catches for 550 yards and three rushes for 39 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown run on July 18, 2014 against Hamilton.
Sinopoli had a standout collegiate career with the Gee-Gees. In 2010, he won the Hec Crighton Trophy as the nation's top player after setting a University of Ottawa record of 2,756 passing yards in eight games. He also connected on 22 touchdown passes, earning an invitation to the CFL Evaluation Camp in 2011.
The Stampeders drafted Sinopoli in the fourth round, 29th overall, in the 2011 draft. He served as the No. 3 quarterback for the Stampeders in 2011 and 2012 before being converted to receiver to begin the 2013 campaign.
Greg Ellingson
The 26-year-old native of Tampa spent the past two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Ellingson (6-3, 197 pounds) totalled 84 receptions for 1,229 yards with the Ticats during the two seasons, including six touchdowns.
Ellingson played collegiate football for Florida International before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaquars.
SirVincent Rogers
The 28-year-old native of Jasper, Texas has spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts.
The 6-foot-4, 319-pound Rogers played collegiate football for the Houston Cougars.
In 2012, Rogers played offensive lineman and tight end for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League, catching five passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns, helping his team eventually win the Arena Bowl championship.
