Calgary Stampeders News Release

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of free-agent international defensive lineman Brandon Boudreaux. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Boudreaux has played 34 career games over three CFL seasons for Hamilton and Saskatchewan and was an East Division all-star for the Tiger-Cats in 2013.

"Brandon has established himself as a very good CFL player these past three years and is a solid addition for our defence," said Hufnagel. "I look forward to seeing him compete for a starting job at training camp with our returning defensive ends."

The 25-year-old Auburn, Ala., product has recorded 75 career tackles, including five tackles for loss, in 34 career games as well as 12 sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, three pass knockdowns and one special-teams tackle. He led the Tiger-Cats with seven sacks in 2013 as he earned East Division all-star honours. In the 2013 Grey Cup, he made six tackles and also had one sack and one fumble recovery.

Injuries limited him to seven games in 2014 - three for Hamilton and four for Saskatchewan following a Sept. 24 trade - and he recorded 17 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and one special-teams tackle.

"I'm excited to be a part of a team that is committed to excellence and being a first-class organization," said Boudreaux. "I thank the Stampeders for the opportunity they are giving me."
