RedBlacks Select OL Alex Fontana with Seventh Overall Pick in 2019 CFL Draft

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's selected offensive lineman Alex Fontana with their first round pick, seventh overall, in the 2019 CFL Draft on Thursday night.

The Toronto native started nine out of 12 games at centre for the University of Kansas in 2018.

With the pick, Fontanta joins the likes of Nolan MacMillan, Antoine Pruneau, Alex Mateas, Jason Lauzon-Seguin, Mark Korte and Evan Johnson as first-round draft selections of the REDBLACKS.

The REDBLACKS also hold the following picks in Thursday's draft:

Round 3, 27th overall

Round 4, 36th overall

Round 5, 45th overall

Round 6, 54th overall

Round 7, 63rd overall

Round 8, 72nd overall
