Rochester Red Wings News Release

THE ROCHESTER RED WINGS dropped the series finale, 6-2, to the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday night at Frontier Field. The Wings still won the series (3-2) and went 4-3 on their 7-game, 6-day homestand. The Wings are still 7-3 in the month of July as they head to Scranton/Wilkes Barre on Thursday, to face the Yankees Triple-A affiliate in a three game-set, starting with a doubleheader on Thursday.

- DEIBINSON ROMERO (2-for-4; 2B, RBI) laced an RBI double off the wall in the sixth inning scoring Dan Rohlfing -- it was Romero's tied for league-leading 25th double of the season. Over his last eight games, he's batting .333 (11-for-33) with 5 doubles, 2 homers, 5 runs, and 6 RBI.

- DAN ROHLFING (2-for-3; 2B, R) recorded his eighth multi-hit game of the season with a single in the sixth and a one-out double in the eighth inning. Rohlfing has now recorded a hit in four of his last five games batting, .357 (5-for-14) with 3 2B, R and an RBI.

- LOGAN DARNELL (4-5, 3.48 ERA) pitched eight-plus innings allowing six runs on 11 hits including three home runs and two walks while striking out five in his season-high 118-pitch outing. The three home runs allowed are a career and the 11 hits surrendered are just one shy of his career-high (12; 8/5/11 w/ FTM). He's now allowed six runs in back-to-back starts for the first time since 7/11 & 7/18/13 with Rochester in starts vs. Pawtucket and Syracuse.

- AARON THOMPSON entered in the ninth with two on before allowing a base-hit, but managed to leave the bases loaded as he struck out Anthony Gose and induced a double play ball to get out of the inning. Thompson has now stranded 22 of 27 (81%) inherited runners this season. With Thompson's one inning, the bullpen has now allowed only one walk in their last 27.1 innings pitched --spanning the last 8 games.
