Red Claws Rack up All D-League Team Honors

PORTLAND, Maine -The NBA Development League announced today that Maine Red Claws forward Abdel Nader was named 2016-17 All NBA D-League Second Team, while Jalen Jones and Marcus Georges-Hunt were named to the All D-League Third Team.

Additionally, Abdel Nader and Jalen Jones were named to the 2016-17 NBA Development League All-Rookie Team.

Nader (Iowa State), a 2016 NBA Draft selection by the Boston Celtics (2nd Round, 58th overall), was named NBA D-League Rookie of the Year last week. Nader averaged 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 40 games this season for Maine. He was named an NBA D-League All-Star as well, and helped lead the Red Claws to their first ever playoff series win.

Jones, an affiliate player for the Red Claws in his rookie season (Texas A&M), averaged 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in 46 games this season. He was also named an NBA D-League All-Star. Jones finished 5th in the league with 21 double-doubles, and added one triple-double on March 26 vs. Reno (25 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists).

Georges-Hunt, also an affiliate player in his rookie year (Georgia Tech), averaged 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 45 games. He was also named an NBA D-League All-Star, and recorded a triple-double on Nov. 18 (22 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists). Georges-Hunt was one of two Red Claws to earn a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA this season, signing a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat, and eventually signing with the Orlando Magic for the remainder of the season.

Nader, Jones and Georges-Hunt are the eighth, ninth and tenth players to earn All D-League honors in Red Claws franchise history. Coty Clarke was named to the All D-League Second Team last season.
