INDIANAPOLIS (Friday, September 12, 2014) - This weekend marks the 200th anniversary of Francis Scott Key's penning of the Star-Spangled Banner, written during the Battle of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 and officially made the United States' national anthem by Congress in 1931.

In honor of the song's 200th anniversary, Indy Eleven Professional Soccer is proud to have the Red Card Regiment, a locally-based, volunteer brass ensemble created in support Indiana's North American Soccer League team, perform the national anthem prior to the team's 7:30 p.m. kickoff tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 13, at IUPUI's Carroll Stadium against FC Edmonton.

"Having the Red Card Regiment be a part of the action at Carroll Stadium has added even more of a 'Hoosier' flavor to our matches, and we couldn't be happier to have their passionate musicians and soccer supporters perform the Star-Spangled Banner on its birthday," said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt.
