
Red Bulls Play Toronto FC to a Scoreless Tie

TORONTO, ON (July 20, 2013) - The New York Red Bulls earned a road point and their second-straight shutout with a 0-0 tie against Toronto FC at BMO Field Saturday afternoon. With the draw, the Red Bulls now have 32 points and a 9-7-5 record, moving into sole possession second place in the Eastern Conference pending the results of other MLS matches later in the day. The Red Bulls trail East leader Sporting Kansas City by one point.
New York comes home to Red Bull Arena on Saturday, July 27, when they battle Real Salt Lake at 7:00 PM. Tickets for the match are available by calling 1.877.RBSOCCER or logging onto www.newyorkredbulls.com.
New York had the first clear cut scoring opportunity in the fourth minute when a deflected Kosuke Kimura cross found forward Thierry Henry, who rifled it right at goalkeeper Joe Bendik. Soon after, both teams thought they had goals with Toronto FC's Jeremy Brockie putting it in from close range before New York's Tim Cahill heading it into the back of the hosts' net on the other end However, both plays were called offside.
Robles made a tremendous save in the 74th minute to keep the scoreline level, getting a palm on a deflected Richard Eckersley right-footed shot. New York had a chance to grab three points in second half stoppage time, but defender Jamison Olave could not put his header on target off a Henry corner kick.
