Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Portland, Maine- Individual game tickets for the Portland Sea Dogs 2005 season along with Hannaford Eastern League All-Star Game tickets went on sale at 9:00 AM this morning at Hadlock Field. The first person in line arrived at just after 12:00 midnight. A dozen others soon joined him. When the Ticket Office opened at 9:00 AM, more than 100 people were in line to secure tickets. The line continued to grow as hundreds arrived at the ballpark throughout the day.
At the close of the day (5:00 PM), the ticket office had sold 4,313 tickets, the single best ticket sales day in team history, excluding the first day of ticket sales in the teams inaugural season in 1994. The 4,313 tickets sold is an improvement of more than 1,700 tickets over last season's first day of sales. The most popular games have been Opening Day (April 7), July 3rd, the "Field of Dreams" game (August 27), and the Hannaford Eastern League All-Star Game (July 13th).
With today's record numbers and Season Ticket renewals the Sea Dogs have now sold more than 130,000 tickets for the 2005 season. The 2004 season saw a franchise record 434,684 fans come to the ballpark.
The Portland Sea Dogs will begin accepting telephone and internet orders on Monday, November 8th at 9:00 AM. Tickets can be ordered by calling 207-879-9500 or by logging on to www.seadogs.com. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 PM. Tickets remain for all Sea Dogs home games.
The Sea Dogs open the 2005 season at Hadlock Field against the Norwich Navigators (Giants) on Thursday, April 7th at 6:00 PM.
