Real Salt Lake Travels to Seattle Saturday Seeking Fifth "Bounce-Back" Win of Season
May 25, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake (4-6-1, 13 pts, 8th West) continues its Major League Soccer campaign Saturday afternoon with a 3:00 p.m. MT kickoff at Century Link Field in downtown Seattle against the host Sounders, RSL returning to the site of its MLS Cup 2009 triumph as it closes out an early-season stretch that has seen five road games out of seven since early April.
RSL boss Mike Petke's side seeks to snap an active seven-game losing streak at Seattle, part of an eight-game winless run on the road against the Sounders dating back to the 2012 season, when RSL last captured points on the artificial surface against the "Rave Green." Each of RSL's four wins this season have come on the heels of losses in the previous week, the resilient club suffering back-to-back losses only once this year - April 27/May 6 at Vancouver/Orlando.
Saturday's broadcast coverage kicks off at 2:00p MT on ESPN700 AM with Bill Riley, Jay Nolly and Spencer Warne & Tom Hackett, while video streaming and broadcast begins at 2:30p MT on KMYU TV and the KSL digital streaming app, with David James and Brian Dunseth again joined by Samantha Yarock, RSL's pre-/post-game host and sideline reporter.

Thursday, RSL learned its 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fate, adding a home match to the schedule for Wednesday, June 6, against the defending USOC champions Sporting Kansas City. That match becomes the third home game in eight days for RSL, which hosts Houston next Wednesday, May 30 and a return match against the Sounders on Saturday, June 2 at Rio Tinto Stadium, in advance of the KC visit.
That upcoming three-game homestand is part of a five-game-in-15-day stretch that kicks off with tomorrow's trip to Seattle, and concludes with a June 9 visit to LA Galaxy. This season, RSL has won four consecutive games at home. At the world-class Utah venue affectionately known as "The RioT," RSL has enjoyed a prominent home-field advantage since building its permanent home in Sandy, boasting a dominant 110-27-44 mark in the world-class venue since opening in October, 2008.
