Real Monarchs News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (10-9-7, 37 points, 8 West) is set to host Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday, September 14 at 1:00P MT from Zions Bank Stadium in a critical Western Conference clash.
"Princess Day" highlights the afternoon's match at Zions Bank Stadium where fans can enjoy princess churros while meeting their favorite princess characters. The first 500 fans through the gates will also receive princess tiaras. Family packs are available for Princess Day and includes four tickets and four princess churros for just $32. Regular admission tickets are also available starting at just $9. Tickets for Saturday's contest are available at RealMonarchs.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
Real Monarchs enters Saturday's contest seeking three points after playing its last five games without a win. Last Saturday, the Monarchs fell to LA Galaxy II away from home after Los Dos found the back of the night twice in the first 15 minutes and then again for the final nail in the coffin in the 68th minute to secure the three points. Real Monarchs managed to pull one back through RSL man MF Justin Portillo before the end of the night with a curling left-footed kick that tucked away neatly into the top corner of the far post. GK Andrew Putna limited the damage to the net, making four massive saves against a side that had zero shots off target.
As the fifth campaign for Real Monarchs enters its final stretch, every point counts in a compact Western Conference table. The Monarchs have an opportunity to keep itself above the playoff line against a Portland Timbers 2 side that aims to get above the line and into the playoff picture. After falling at Providence Park to a 2-1 score line in late May, Real Monarchs will now host Portland Timbers 2 for the first time at Zions Bank Stadium, where on Utah soil Timbers 2 have yet to pick up the full three points.
