HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (5-6-3, 18 points, 14 West) remains on the road to face Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Saturday, June 29 at 6:30p MT.
The Monarchs found its first road win of 2019 last Saturday when it faced fellow Four-Corners rival Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. After a scoreless first half, Colorado struck first in the 55th minute before the Monarchs mounted its comeback. The Monarchs found goals from Utah-native FW Kyle Coffee and RSL MF Justin Portillo. Coffee found the first in the 81st minute when his shot took a bounce off a defender to float over the goalkeeper. Portillo ended the contest with a stunning freekick that curved to find the far top corner to secure the three points away from home with a 2-1 scoreline.
Real Monarchs SLC travels to Oklahoma to play Roughnecks FC at ONEOK Field, where the Monarchs hold a record of 2-2-0. In 2018, the Monarchs got the best of Roughnecks FC on two separate occasions, topping the Roughnecks with 3-2 scorelines. The Monarchs now look to pick up another critical three points away from home as it prepares to face a side that is in rough form, with Tulsa having lost the last four games and being shut out in the last three.
