Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
It pays to be a Corpus Christi Rayz Season Ticket Holder. On Thursday afternoon Rayz General Manager, Larry Linde announced the return of the 3rd Annual Rayz Rewards Season Ticket Program. The wildly successful program has been recognized as one of the most innovative in professional sports. Open only to Rayz season ticket holders, the incentive program consists of a series of drawings for a bevy of unique Rayz and Corpus Christi related prizes. Rayz Rewards has given season ticket holders once in a lifetime opportunities to be on the bench during games, shadow the coach for a night, or even sign a CHL contract and play in a regular season game for their hometown team. The 1st period drawing for six different prizes will be held on Friday, July 14th.
Rayz Rewards is an annual program that provides Rayz season ticket holders with the chance to win non-traditional prizes. A number of exclusive prizes have been awarded over the last two years including the opportunity to practice with the team (in full gear), dinner with your favorite players, closed skating parties with the team, broadcasting a game on the radio and more. All season tickets holders in good standing at the time of each drawing are eligible to win. Season ticket holders receive one entry for each season ticket purchased and are eligible to win multiple times.
"This program has been incredibly successful since we started it two years ago," said Linde. "We wanted to thank our season ticket holders for their support and give them an opportunity to win prizes that are unique to fans of the team. What fan wouldn't want to coach the team one night, broadcast the game or take to the ice with the players? The 'dog days' of summer can be tough on hockey fans. With Rayz Rewards, it gives them something to look forward to, and a shot at an experience that they will never forget."
Rayz fans have shown their passion over the past nine years and have made the Rayz one of the more successful franchises in the CHL.
Linde added, "We truly believe that we have some of the best fans in the league, and this is our way of saying thank you, and rewarding them for their loyalty and support."
Rayz Rewards consists of three periods, beginning with the 1st Period drawing on July 14th. In August and September, new periods, along with new prizes will be announced. With each new period, another drawing will take place and more winners will be announced. The Rayz Rewards Program will conclude with a runner-up and Grand Prize drawing to be conducted later in the off-season. Previous runner-up prizes consisted of a road trip with the team and the opportunity to serve as Coach for a game. The Grand Prize was the opportunity to sign an official CHL contract and play in an actual regular season game, won by Rayz season ticket holder, Alex Prado.
The drawing is done by a raffle of all Rayz season ticket holders. As each winner is selected they will have their choice of each of the remaining prizes for that period. All winners will be contacted directly and winners, and their selected rewards, will be posted on the Rayz website.
On Thursday the 1st Period prizes were announced (see below). Fans are encouraged to contact the Rayz today at (361)814-PUCK to place a deposit and become eligible for Rayz Rewards.
