Rays Top Elizabethton

The Princeton Rays get the win against Elizabethton tonight, 5-4. Princeton scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning, but Elizabethton came back with their only four runs in the top of the 4th. The P-Rays then scored one run in the 4th, one run in the 5th, and two runs in the 6th inning.

Princeton is now 8-5 on the season and second, behind Burlington, in the Appalachian League East. Elizabethton is tied for first with the Greeneville Astros at 7-6 in the Appalachian League West.

Peter Maris scored the first run for the Rays in the bottom of the first off of a single by David Rodriguez. Elizabethton scored four in the 3rd. Manuel Guzman and Sean Miller scored off of a double by Brad Hartong. LaMonte Wade hit a double, bringing A.J. Murray and Hartong home. In the 4th, Jon Popadics scored off of a single by Maris. Princeton continued to crawl back into the game and scored one run in the 5th. Brett Sullivan scored off of a wild pitch. The P-Rays pulled ahead to win the game with two runs in the 6th. Popadics scored off of a single by Maris. Landon Cray brings Maris home with a single.
