
P-Rays Lose to Elizabethton

The Princeton Rays came up short to Elizabethton tonight, 5-2. The first five innings were scoreless, but Elizabethton scored first with three runs in the 6th and two runs in the 7th. The P-Rays tried to get the game within reach, scoring one run in the 7th and one in the 9th.
Both teams are 7-5 on the season. The Princeton Rays are second in the East, behind the Burlington Royals. Elizabethton is tied for first in the West with the Greeneville Astros.
Elizabethton scored first tonight. Off of a single from Sean Miller, Austin Diemer scored to put Elizabethton up by one in the top of the 6th. Nelson Molina scored on a fielding error by the P-Rays and Sean Miller scored on a single by Amaurys Minier. The P-Rays were unable to score in the bottom of the inning and Elizabethton continued to fight. They scored two in the top of the 7th inning off of a homerun by Austin Diemer, bringing Kamran Young home. Peter Maris hit a single with Angel Perez scoring. In the bottom of the 9th, the Rays tried to make a comeback but were unable to with only one run by Bill Pujols off of a double by Landon Cray.
