Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays and Lansing Lugnuts game at C.O. Brown Stadium was suspended after a 47-minute rain delay on Wednesday evening.
The Devil Rays used two four-run innings to build an 8-5 lead in the bottom of the third inning with two outs before the field was deemed unplayable after rain beat down on the stadium. The game will be resumed on Thursday, July 14 at 6:05 p.m. The scheduled game for Thursday will be played 30 minutes after the completion of the first game as a seven-inning contest.
Southwest Michigan was hosting NASCAR Night complete with show cars and pace cars. There were 11 pair of tickets to be given away. Those will be mailed individually to the winners because of the length of game.
