Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) Eskimo quarterback Ricky Ray has broken Warren Moon's record to become first in career touchdown passes in Eskimo history. Ray threw his 145th touchdown pass to Maurice Mann during the 3rd quarter on Friday night in Winnipeg.
"Congratulations to Ricky Ray on breaking my touchdown record," says Warren Moon. "I'm sure he will own all the passing records before he is done as an Eskimo. Ricky is just another in a great line of fine Eskimo quarterbacks going all the way back to Jackie Parker. The best to Ricky as he continues his CFL career!"
"We've been spoiled with Ricky and the success that he's had here," says Eskimo Head Coach Danny Maciocia. "You associate Warren Moon with Hall of Fame and greatness and here Ricky is at 28...that says a lot about him and he still has a lot of football left in him."
Ray, who has been named CFL Offensive Player of the Week three times this season, also holds club records for career pass completions and career passing yards.
