
Rawhide Give Up Three Late; Fall 7-4 To San Jose

VISALIA, CA- Visalia (76-56, 30-32) allowed three runs in the eighth inning to San Jose (67-65, 28-34) and fell 7-4 in game two of the three game series on Saturday night at Recreation Ballpark.
*RHP Joel Payamps*(7-4, 4.66) ran into trouble right out of the gate when RF Dylan Davis doubled home LF Robbie Garvey for an early 1-0 lead.
It remained 1-0 San Jose until the bottom of the fourth when, against LHP Mark Reyes (9-8, 4.97) the Rawhide strung together a two out rally with three hits and a walk. *C Tyler Baker* singled, *LF Joey Armstrong* doubled, *SS Galli Cribbs* walked and *1B Cody Regis* singled home both Baker and Armstrong to give Visalia a 2-1 lead.
San Jose snatched the lead right back in the top of the fifth against Payamps, who did not make it out of the inning. With one out Payamps issued back-to-back walks before 1B Jonah Arenado, with two outs, singled home SS Rando Moreno to tie the game at 2-2. DH Miguel Gomez followed with a two-run double that chased Payamps after 4.2 innings and four runs (earned) on six hits, four walks and five strikeouts.
Visalia inched closer in the bottom of the fifth when they received a leadoff walk and after an error, *2B Henry Castillo* hit a deep fly ball that brought home *3B Marty Herum* to cut the lead to 4-3.
San Jose Hung on to their 4-3 lead until the eighth inning when *RHP Jency Solis* came out for his second inning of work. A one out double by C Ty Ross started the whole rally and a walk to CF Daniel Carbonell continued it. With two outs, Garvey knocked in Ross for a 5-3 lead and Davis drove in two with his second RBI double of the game for a 7-3 advantage.
Visalia tacked on their final tally in bottom of the eighth against RHP Tyler Cyr when Regis, with two outs again, drove in Armstrong for the 7-4 final.
RHP Reyes Moronta (SV: 14), who blew the save last night, struck out three in the ninth to earn the save and close out the 7-4 Giants win.
The rubber match finale is tomorrow night with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch from Recreation Ballpark. The Rawhide will send *RHP Markus Solbach* (3-2, 4.01) to the mound against RHP Cory Taylor (1-0, 1.80) takes the ball for San Jose. Sunday night is *Fan Appreciation Night* and the Rawhide are raffling off over 200 prizes throughout the game.
