
Rawhide Down 66ers 5-4 in Series Opener

Stockton, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino fell to the Visalia Rawhide 5-4 in a 3 hour and 45 minute marathon at San Manuel Stadium on Tuesday. The Rawhide (51-52, 14-19) downed the Sixers in the opener of a three-game set despite stranding 18 runners on base and going 4-for-21 with runners on base.
DJ Jenkins and Jordan Zimmerman each had two hit games for Inland Empire (50-53, 17-16) with Jenkins knocking home two runs for the Sixers. The duo also each had doubles, the clubs only extra-base hits in the affair. Jorge Tavarez (2-1) took the loss out of the pen allowing a run in 1.1IP after Sixers starter Adrian De Horta and first bullpen arm Nate Bertness combined to record 20 outs on 164 pitches. Riley Smith got a no-decsion for Visalia giving up three runs, two earned in six innings. Miguel Aguilar was credited with the win tossing two frames while Tyler Mark notched his second save. Renae Martinez had three of the Rawhide's 14 hits as the clubs combined for 22 hits, 13 walks, two hit batsmen and 28 runners left on base. Ramon Hernandez had a pair of doubles for the Rawhide.
