Rawhide Cruise Past Blaze To Open Series
August 10, 2016 - California League (CalL1)
Bakersfield Blaze News Release
A tight game through 5.5 innings got away from the Blaze after a challenging sixth inning as the Visalia Rawhide used a 3-run outburst to pull away, 6-0.
Visalia led 1-0 after the first inning thanks to A.J. Pollock's (rehab stint) solo home run to right field off of Anthony Misieiwicz (L, 6-10).
Misiewicz was solid in three short innings as he gave up the lone run off of two hits, while striking out four in the defeat.
Bakersfield's woes continue as the club committed three more errors, grounded into two double plays, and only mustered six hits in the loss.
Austin Wilson was the only Blaze player with a multi-hit performance going 2-4 as the team fell to 61-54 this season.
On the other side, Justin Donatella improved his record to 4-1 on the year. The right-hander was outstanding in five innings by striking out four, scattering five hits, and not walking a batter.
Visalia now improves their record to 15-5 against the Blaze this year and they are now just two games back (22-23) of Bako in the second half of North Division play.
The two teams will resume the 3-game series on Wednesday night in Visalia. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00pm with David Gascon on the call courtesy of TuneIn Radio and BakersfieldBlaze.com.
