Arizona Rattlers News Release

Phoenix, AZ - The Arizona Rattlers scored their highest TV rating ever on Sunday when they matched-up with the Los Angeles Avengers on KPNX Channel 12 (NBC). The Rattlers pulled in a 2.2 rating for the game, out-drawing the NHL All-Star game which locally scored a 1.5 rating on the Nielson Ratings Index.

"This is a tribute to our product and our loyal fan following. This bodes well for the league, it is good to start on a high note as far as the ratings," said Rattlers Vice President of Operations Gene Nudo. "Now we just need to get our team better and I am very confident that will happen."

The national overnight rating for the "AFL on NBC" was 2.4, the highest AFL rating ever. The 2.5 is up 14 percent from the 2003 opening weekend rating of 2.2 and well above the national average of 1.1 for 2003.

In just their second season in a multiyear partnership with NBC, the Arizona Rattlers will be featured five more times on NBC in 2004.

The Rattlers will host the Detroit Fury on Friday, February 13 at America West Arena. Arizona will make its return to TV on February 29 when they host the New York Dragons on NBC.
