Arizona Rattlers News Release
Phoenix, Ariz. - The Indoor Football League (IFL) has announced that the Arizona Rattlers have been honored with the Best Franchise of the Year award, the Best Fans of the Year award, and the Best Cheerleaders/Dance team of the Year award. This is the third straight year that the Rattlers fans and the Franchise have been honored.
Franchise of the Year
The organization is again being honored by the IFL for the third straight season. Since the team's establishment in 1992, the Arizona Rattlers have won 11 division titles, seven conference titles, six world championships, and as of next Saturday, will have appeared in 12 championship games.
"It all starts at the top with (Owner) Ron Shurts. Ron has set the tone throughout the organization from the outset," said Team President Chris Presson. "Kevin (Guy) and I have tried to continue to build on that and carry forward what we know he expects. Our staff on both the business side and the football side come together daily to do what's best for the organization. Special thanks as well to the Phoenix Suns and Talking Stick Resort Arena for helping to continue to drive our business forward. Thank you as well to the Indoor Football League and our partners who strive every day to get better."
Best Fans of the Year Award
For the third straight time, Arizona Rattlers fans have been named the Indoor Football League's Best Fans of the Year. Despite, having to move the Snake Pit to Gila River Arena for the playoffs, Rattler Nation showed they were still as loyal and as loud as ever, during all of the Rattlers eight home games.
The Arizona Rattlers organization would like to thank their loyal fans in showing their support all season long.
"No other fan base comes close to what we have with Rattler Nation," said General Manager and Head Coach Kevin Guy. "Our fans are the most loyal. The atmosphere here in the Snake Pit is like no other, and looking at our record when we play at home, you can tell that they give us a real advantage."
Best Cheerleaders/Dance Team of the Year Award
For the second time in three seasons, the Sidewinders have been honored by the league as being the best dance team. The Sidewinders continue to establish themselves as one of the preeminent dance teams in all of indoor football. They have been entertaining the fans with halftime and quarterly performances, along with in game dances that keep the fans engaged.
"Our team is extremely honored to receive this recognition. We are very lucky to work with such positive, talented and well-rounded individuals. Their dedication and hard work allowed for a great season and we are so happy with the way they represent their team and organization on and off the field."
