Rattlers Castañeda Named High-A Central League Pitcher of the Week

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Victor Castañeda has been named the High-A Central League Pitcher of the Week. Castañeda is the first Wisconsin Timber Rattlers player to win a weekly award in the new league.
Castañeda was the starting pitcher at Cedar Rapids on May 28. The right-hander pitched 6-2/3 scoreless innings, allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out eight. He retired the first twelve batters he faced and matched his professional single-game high for strikeouts in the game. Castañeda had a no decision, but the Timber Rattlers would win the game 6-2.
Castañeda and the Timber Rattlers are back in action on June 1 against the Peoria Chiefs to start a six-game series through June 6. Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities will be back up to nearly 100% capacity for the remaining home games of the 2021 season starting on Tuesday with a Bang for Your Buck Night to kick off a memorable week of promotions, events, and giveaways at the ballpark.
