Arizona Rattlers News Release
PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League have established a partnership with Pop Warner teams in and around Phoenix that will recognize and aid their athletes, the team announced today.
The "Ironkids of the Year" award program presented by Summit Builders and a youth football fundraising program will take place throughout the 2006 Pop Warner season.
The awards program recognizes youth football teams for sportsmanship, ability and academics. Pop Warner coaches and board members will vote for teams on a weekly basis that will be recognized on the team's website. All award-winning teams will be recognized on the field during the Rattlers first home game of the 2007 season.
The fundraising program will allow teams to raise money through selling vouchers good for Rattlers tickets and a chance to win prizes.
"This is an effort on our part to strengthen youth football in our surrounding area," said President, Blake Edwards. "What is good for youth football is good for arena football."
Rattler season tickets for the 2007 campaign are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 602-514-TDTD or online at www.azrattlers.com.
