Arizona Rattlers News Release

PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers activated WR/DB Randy Gatewood from injured reserve on Thursday, Head Coach Gene Nudo announced. The team also promoted OL/DL Brandon Phillips from the practice squad to the team's active roster. In addition, the Rattlers placed OS Jeremiah Pope on injured reserve and released DB Joe Todd.

Gatewood (6-foot, 185 pounds) returns to the field after missing the past four games on injured reserve (foot). The two-time Ironman of the Year posted 319 yards receiving and six touchdowns through the team's first three games of the season prior to his injury.

Phillips (6-foot8, 319 pounds) was on the Rattlers active roster for the first three games this season but did not play. The former University of Arizona Wildcat is in his first Arena Football League season.

Pope (5-foot-11, 205 pounds) ranks second on the squad with 506 receiving yards (Trandon Harvey, 626) and second in receiving touchdowns with 12 (Harvey, 13).

The Rattlers face-off against division rival Utah Friday night in Salt Lake City. The game is a rematch of Week 2's high-scoring affair, when the Blaze beat Arizona 74-71. The outcome marked Utah's first win against the Rattlers after starting the series with three consecutive defeats.
