
Rattlers Acquire Former Cardinal DB Legree

Phoenix, Ariz. - The five time world champion Arizona Rattlers were assigned defensive back Jimmy Legree for the 2016 Arena Football League (AFL) season on Monday. This will be his first season with the Rattlers and in the AFL.
Before he joined the Rattlers, Legree signed with National Football League's (NFL) Arizona Cardinals in 2014 and spent the entire season on the practice squad. He also spent the entire 2015 training camp with the Cardinals before finally being released prior to the start of the season.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Legree attended the University of South Carolina, where during his senior season he recorded 55 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, had three interceptions and four passes defended.
The Beaufort, South Carolina native was a multi-sport athlete at Beaufort High School. He was named the 2008 Beaufort Gazette/Island Packet Defensive Player of the Year as a cornerback. He also saw time as quarterback, receiver, kick returner and tailback during his high school career. Legree also competed in track, running the hurdles and sprints.
