Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO - Paul Stephens will return for his second season with the Orlando Predators as the team agreed to terms on a new contract with the fourth-year defensive back.
Stephens (5-10, 190, Central Missouri) was limited to just six games due to injuries in his first season with the Predators, but made his presence felt when he was on the field. Overall in his Arena Football League career, he has recorded 235.5 total tackles with 20 interceptions and 52 pass breakups.
"Paul brings outstanding athleticism and coverage ability to the secondary," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He is capable of being a game changer in the defensive backfield. Now healthy and refocused, we're looking forward to seeing him compete in training camp."
During his college career, Stephens played his senior season at Central Missouri, where he tied for the team lead with four interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns. He placed second on the team with 73 total tackles with also adding five pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick.
Prior to playing at CMU, Stephens spent his junior season at Arkansas State after transferring from JUCO powerhouse Blinn College. He is a native of Missouri City, Texas.
