SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2004) â The San Jose SaberCats added more hardware to their trophy case Tuesday as wide receiver/defensive back Rashied Davis was named the Arena Football League's U.S. Army Ironman-of-the-Week for his performance in Sunday's 61-55 win over the Los Angeles Avengers.
Davis becomes the second SaberCat to win one of the AFL's weekly awards, following defensive specialist Omarr Smith's being named ADT Defensive Player-of-the-Week in Week 1.
"It feels great. I really appreciate it," Davis said about the award. "I think I worked hard out there. I could have played better on defense, but a win is a win. It's always great to be recognized as a good player in any league and I thank the league for giving it to me."

Besides standout play on special teams, Davis also contributed four rece ptions for 34 yards and added 3.5 tackles (three solo) and one pass breakup on defense.

Chicago Rush lineman John Moyer led the AFL's top-rated defense to a 65-35 win over Colorado, recording a sack and a fumble recovery, while applying constant pressure to Crush QB, John Dutton.
